Answer

Dear Sam,

I am glad you have reached this realization. This is the battle of life, that we are all fighting. When you reach this realization and really want freedom, you are ready to embrace the spiritual path, and use the weapons of the meditation techniques to free yourself from the bondage of desires.

The way to overcome desires, is to detach yourself from them, by drawing back to your center. If you are interested in practicing meditation, please go to: www.ananda.org for free instructions on meditaion. On the left side of the page, there is a bar. Click on meditation. Then click on free meditation support. You can explore the different offerings. Here is a direct link to The Hong-Sau technique of concentration which will help you start the process:

The breath is connected to desires. When you practice watching the breath, and repeating the mantra, you start to detach yourself from desires.

The Hong-Sau technique is a part of The path of Kriya Yoga which is the highway to achieving the state of bliss. If you are interested in this path, please read about it in the meditation section.

Nayaswami Kriyananda recommended to ask yourself when a desire come up : Is this going to lead me towards freedom or bondage?

Self control is essential, plus daily practice of meditaiton. Through the path of Kriya Yoga you will be able to transform yourself, get rid of desires, and gradually achieved the state of bliss.

Blessings to you on this journey to Self-Realization,

Nayaswami Diksha
