More on Astrological Bangles and Gems
Hi! I read your answer on “Creating a Protective Aura.”
[See link below]
I have a doubt and want to clarify. In Indian astrology, gems vary and so do the weight of stones as per the problem of the person. Different people have different consciousness levels and different levels of energy (+ as wll as -). Will one bangle work for all problems or do you customize as per needs?
There is a “universal” astrological bangle that was highly recommended by Sri Yukteswar and Paramhansa Yogananda. It consists of very precise weights of pure copper, silver, and gold, wound together in a specific way. You can learn more about them at:
The website is that of an Ananda member who makes the bangles. Anyone can be helped by wearing that particular bangle. In the chapter on Outwitting the Stars, from Autobiography of a Yogi, Sri Yukteswar tells Yogananda, “For general purposes I counsel the use of an armlet made of gold, silver, and copper. But for a specific purpose I want you to get one of silver and lead.”
That “specific purpose” was some karma that Yogananda was about to work out.
Regarding gems and their size and weight, Sri Yukteswar only said that:
This problem received attention from our rishis; they found helpful not only a combination of metals, but also of plants and—most effective of all—faultless jewels of not less than two carats. The preventive uses of astrology have seldom been seriously studied outside of India. One little-known fact is that the proper jewels, metals, or plant preparations are valueless unless the required weight is secured, and unless these remedial agents are worn next to the skin.
Sri Yukteswar never mentioned weights greater than two carats being needed by people who weigh more, or who have more bad karma. Most astrologers will tell you that the quality of the gem is much more important than the weight.
