Dear Ones,

The movie, Finding Happiness, premiered on July 27, in Grass Valley, CA, and over 500 people were in attendance. One Ananda member wrote of the experience:

“An image came to mind that while we were viewing the film, there was a celebration in the astral world at which our Gurus and all the denizens of the higher realms were watching the cosmic show with us and showering Swamiji with rose petals, honoring him for the success of his life’s mission…”

Our family, and many Ananda friends are featured in this film, and share many discoveries of living in this expansive way. Nayaswami Asha Praver reflects:

“..Ananda is a way of understanding life. I believe the movie will be a powerful vehicle for disseminating that kind of expansive consciousness. At first glance, the movie seems to be about a place – you know, “come visit this wonderful place in the country.” But if you truly understand Ananda, you realize the place is incidental. What’s important is a fresh way of understanding life… At first people love the vibrations of peace and harmony, the beauty of nature, the music, the people, the spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Then you begin to understand, little by little, where the vibrations are coming from. It’s from the way of life, which people can practice anywhere. It’s about “simple living and high thinking,” as Paramhansa Yogananda put it when he spoke about spiritual communities…”

Invoke the blessings of God, Christ, Guru upon the project; and may many souls may be blessed. Practice the affirmations on the reverse page to be in tune with the energy. Visualize this film, as a courier of world peace, harmony and happiness, having great success. It will hopefully be released this fall, and will be shown in many film festivals and independent theaters across the nation. Later it will be released as a DVD and online.  We have a professional marketing team, but all our blessings are needed, through prayers and involvement.  God bless…

Swami Kriyananda says in “Affirmations for Self-Healing,” “Happiness is an attitude of mind, born of the simple determination to be happy under all outward circumstances.  Happiness lies not in things, nor in outward attainments.  It is the gold of our inner nature, buried beneath the mud of outward sense-cravings.”

Affirm:  “I vow from today onwards to be happy under every circumstance.  I came from God’s joy.  I AM joy!”

Pray: O Lord of Joy, fill me with boundless happiness.  For I am Thy child, made in Thy blissful image.  As Thou art Joy, so also, in my inner self, am I.”

Quotes on Happiness by Paramhansa Yogananda:

Happiness lies in making others happy, in forsaking self-interest to bring joy to others. You do not have to leave earth’s shores to put on wings; you must learn rather to be happy here and now, under all conditions; and consider others’ happiness as part of your own joy.

Material things cannot be owned by anybody, for at death they must be left behind & given to others. We are only allowed the use of things. It shows lack of wisdom to be ‘possessed’ by material things. Just pray to be given the use of things that you need and to be given the power to create at will what you need. Do not allow your happiness to be conditioned by what you have or do not have.
