December
Week 4
Day 1: “Today, gaze up from time to time at the clouds. Ask them, 'Have you a special message for me?' Think of consciousness as omnipresent. It is not the creation, merely, of your little brain. Reflect that the Divine can use countless instruments for our guidance and inspiration.”
Day 2: “Listen to the pauses in people’s speech. There, often, is where the message lies.”
Day 3: “Listen with special attention to people whom you’ve been inclined to consider a little foolish. You may find that they, specifically, have something important to tell you. For some of our worst mistakes — which Life, for our correction, sees to it that we make — proceed from judgmental attitudes.”
Day 4: “Pay more attention to children’s utterances. Often, in their very lack of sophistication, they achieve the simple clarity of wisdom.”
Day 5: “Live more in the heart. Send rays of love outward to all the world.”
Week 3
Day 1: "Meet your challenges vigorously. To muse lengthily on past victories is to deprive yourself of the energy you need for winning new ones.”
Day 2: “Overcome worry by living bravely right now. Leave your future problems to be resolved by future energy.”
Day 3: “Think of time as a radiation outward from your own center. Past and future are a circle rotating around a never-changing present.”
Day 4: “Certain mental attitudes resemble postures of the body. Do you lean forward mentally, as if to grasp things before they happen? Do you lean back, as if to distance yourself from life’s unpleasantness? Do you lean sideways, as if forever seeking a new strategy? Keep your mental posture upright and relaxed, and you’ll find within you the power to cope with every difficulty.”
Day 5: “Give old people the time to express themselves. You may find they have much wisdom to impart.”
Week 2
Day 1: "Likes and dislikes only agitate the heart’s feelings. They’ll prevent you from perceiving anything as it really is. Rise above them by affirming contentment regardless of any turmoil surging around you.”
Day 2: “Say what you mean; mean what you say. Infuse thought and energy into every word you utter.”
Day 3: “Project heart vibrations into the people with whom you are conversing, and your communication with them will be much more effective.”
Day 4: “Live more fully NOW, to develop golden memories.”
Day 5: “Concentrate on your present commitments. Don’t dwell regretfully on failures of the past.”
Week 1
Day 1: "Laugh with others, not at them.” Day 2: “Choose your words kindly, and they’ll invite understanding.”Day 3: “Express your thoughts simply and clearly. You do want people to understand you, don’t you? Then why impose on them the burden of editing for you?” Day 4: “Think space when you speak. Try not to crowd your ideas.” Day 5: “Listen for people’s thoughts and feelings behind their words.”
