Meditation Support The Daily Meditator- July 2002 Dear Meditator, The American humorist, W.C. Fields, said, "If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." In order to find God, it is important that we have a spiritual teacher who not only shows us the way, but also can expand our vision of what we are seeking. Otherwise, our pursuit of divine awakening is continually limited by our own level of consciousness. This is why the teachings and blessings of Paramhansa Yogananda (who is an avatar) are so valuable for us. In this month's "Daily Meditator," Yogananda answers the question, "What is Yoga?" His two-page reply is beautiful in its simplicity, clarity, and depth, and provides us with a clear sense of direction for our meditation practice and a greater understanding of what is the true goal of Yoga. Yogananda's answer is well worth re-reading and reflecting upon. Also this month, we have a selection from the talk, entitled, "The Importance of Right Attitude on the Spiritual Path." Swami Kriyananda has said that only when we have the right spiritual attitudes, will divine experiences come to us. He went on to say that right attitude is everything on the path, and that meditation alone won't get us there. The talk is given by Dave Warner, one of Ananda's long-time ministers, and webmaster for Ananda's Meditation Support website. This summer I hope you are enjoying your meditation practice and finding time to go deeply into the Inner Silence. July 2002 Daily
