Ananda’s New Meditation Movie: The Gift of Inner Peace
Dear Meditator,
Do you have friends and relatives with whom you’d like to share the benefits of meditation? Perhaps, too, you have friends who could use some encouragement and inspiration for their meditation practice.
Since June I’ve been working on a flash animation movie called “The Gift of Inner Peace.” The purpose of this five-minute movie is to gently introduce people to the joys of meditation. The movie also has a website with links like “Try Meditation,” where people can experience meditation. The site is designed so that people can learn about meditation in an enjoyable and non-threatening way. Experienced meditators have also found this movie very uplifting and motivating.
The web address for the movie and website is: www.giftofpeace.org.
We were very fortunate to have Adriana Jaroszewicz from Sony Pictures do the flash animation and web design. She has done a beautiful job with both. I hope you enjoy The Gift of Inner Peace and share it with those who will benefit from its message.
I know a many of you teach meditation to others. To make it is easier for you to share this movie with classes and informal gatherings; the website offers free downloads of a high resolution version of The Gift of Inner Peace.
2006 Christmas Retreat
My wife, Anandi, and I would like to invite you to a beautiful Christmas celebration at Ananda’s Expanding Light Meditation and Yoga Retreat. We will be leading this 3-day weekend, December 22-25, and it is particularly special for meditators. Every year at Ananda, we celebrate Christmas with an 8-hour meditation on December 23. The day begins at 8 am and continues to 4 pm with periods of meditation interspersed with devotional chanting or inspirational music. Even beginning meditators are surprised at how much longer they are able to meditate on this special day. With no other plans for the day to distract you, your mind is able to catch the uplifting energy of the group spirit. Even if you choose to participate only for an hour or two, it is sure to be a special time.
In addition to the meditation, guests can join the community for the annual Christmas concert, and the next night a Christmas pageant featuring a living creche scene. There will be caroling, goodies, and other entertainment. You will be amazed at the tangible blessings from this lively, warm, and deep 3-day experience. We hope you can join us!

Those of you who practice Hong-Sau meditation will especially appreciate Jyotish (John) Novak’s explanation of the technique from his book, How to Meditate.
May the peace of your soul always guide and inspire you.
