Meditation Support The Daily Meditator - September 2002 Dear Meditator, In July's "Daily Meditator," Paramhansa Yogananda answered the question, "What is Yoga?" His reply gave us a clear sense of direction for our meditation practice and a greater understanding of what is the true goal of Yoga. Following this theme, the two feature articles in this month's issue expand on Yogananda's answer and give us a greater insight into what are the true, inner teachings that are common to all religions. These two articles, "Yogananda on Kriya Yoga," and "Kriya Yoga" by Swami Kriyananda, also can help us to understand the path of Kriya Yoga, which we follow at Ananda. Yogananda called Kriya Yoga "the airplane route to God" because of its ability of "controlling the mind directly through the life force" and said that it "is the easiest, most effective, and most scientific avenue of approach to the Infinite." The Hong-Sau meditation technique you have already learned, is just one of many that comprise the path of Kriya Yoga. These techniques are taught in the Ananda Course in Self-Realization and by Ananda Meditation teachers in classes and retreats. The actual technique of Kriya Yoga is given at a special Kriya Initiation Ceremony. Please let us know
if you are interested in knowing more about the Ananda Course in Self-Realization
and/or Kriya Yoga. You can also find more information at the following
Ananda webpages: Many blessings to you and on your practice of meditation. September 2002
