Lodging and Travel Information for Mahasamadhi Celebration
and Kriyaban Retreat

For most Western travelers attending these retreats, especially first-time travelers to India, we strongly recommend the guided pilgrimage. Being a member of a pilgrimage group means that your flight, hotel reservations, transportation, meals, personal needs, and the inevitable complications of traveling in India, are all looked after by your pilgrimage leaders. You are then free to simply be a pilgrim and to absorb the inspiration. Group members will also have a special satsang with Swami Kriyananda and guided side trips in the Delhi area.

Traveling on your own in India is not for the faint-hearted. If you do wish to travel independently to the retreats, you are most welcome. We can suggest local accommodations. Then you would need to contact the hotel directly and make all your own arrangements. Since March will be a very busy time, the staff of Ananda India can assist you only in limited ways once you arrive in India.

Hotels & Guest Houses in Gurgaon
Within walking distance of the Ananda ashram and the community center where both retreats will be held are several small and simple guesthouses. About a five-minute drive by taxi are full-service hotels. Both guesthouses and hotels usually include breakfast, offer other meals and laundry service, and can arrange to pick you up at the Delhi airport, about 30 minutes away.

There is an element of risk in reserving the guesthouses as they may over-book and upon arrival you may find yourself being sent to a less desirable guesthouse. Book as much as possible in advance as they can fill up quickly.

The guesthouse we suggest is called Seven Seas. Seven Seas is just one block from the Ananda ashram and about a seven-minute walk to the retreats. Double rooms are about Rupees 1750 per night, singles about Rupees 1500 per night, including breakfast. Request a special price as you are a guest of Ananda Sangha. You can prearrange airport pickup for Rupees 400 or 500.
