About Greg Traymar

While in high school I went on an Outward Bound trip that changed my life. After reflecting on my experience in nature and the inspiration and peace it brought me, I knew my purpose was to help bring this same type of experience to others.

Shortly after this experience. my natural doctor told me to read “Autobiography of a Yogi.” I immediately bought the book and took it home to my sister and best friend. They were both very inspired by it…and I eventually got around to reading it…when I did, I knew I had found my spiritual path. It turns out that all three of us are now disciples of Yogananda.

While in college I met Joseph (Bharat) Cornell, resident of Ananda Village and author of the classic Sharing Nature with Children” book series. When I learned of his approach to Environmental Education and the fact that principles of his books were directly inspired by Yogananda’s teachings,  I knew I had found a way to bring inspiration to others in a practical way.

A few years later I moved to Ananda Village to dedicate my life to God and service to others.  I am the Director of Sharing Nature USA, conducting workshops around the country and here at Ananda’s guest retreat, The Expanding Light.
