Our Head Chefs

Julie Roberts

Julie has been cooking in and around Ananda’s kitchens since 1997, but you might know her better as the original founder and former owner of Durga’s Divine product line (salsas, hummus and pesto) as well as Durga’s Divine Cafe in Grass Valley.

A graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute for Chef and Healing, Julie was trained and is passionate about cooking in a sustainable and healthy way for both people and the planet.

Jake Fuentes

Jake has been serving as a chef at The Expanding Light Retreat for decades, and many of his “famous” meals are community member favorites. His creativity and love for all things tasty come through in every meal.
