A note from Nayaswami Nirmala for Ananda Sacramento about the Ananda Janaka Grant:

Since we weren’t able to hold an in-person event this year due to the pandemic, we had an online only event. We put the Ananda Janaka Grant to good use by upgrading the quality of our video and sound equipment for this special online event. The purchase of this upgraded equipment has also meant that we can now continue to offer all our programs online which include daily videos, Sunday services, classes, satsangs, morning meditations, Friday night kirtans and all other special events.

Yogananda’s 100th Anniversary of arriving in America: Celebrating A Century of Yoga in the West

Our online live celebration of Yogananda’s arrival in America a century ago was streamed from Ananda Sacramento.
Nayaswamis Jyotish and Devi, spiritual directors of Ananda Worldwide, offered an inspiring keynote talk on Sharing the Light of Yoga with All.

Phil Goldberg, public speaker and author of the book, The Life of Yogananda: The Story of the Yogi Who Became the First Modern Guru, joined us online and spoke about Yogananda’s life and teachings, and his impact on American and world culture.

Nayaswamis Dharmadas and Nirmala provided inspiring music throughout the evening.

We ended our evening with a meditation and a prayer and visualization for world healing and peace led by Nayaswamis Jyotish and Devi.
