This past week saw the continuation of many phases of the project and the beginning of the finishes!

In the Class Room wing and entry, more sheetrock was hung and is being mudded, getting ready for the final texture coat in the front area of the building. The Hall of the Murtis is starting to reveal itself and it’s going to be a vibrant place of devotion.

Tile work has started in the two toilet rooms. This includes porcelain tile on the floor and on the lower four feet of the walls, as a wainscot. The tile in the toilets is going up now and will be grouted over the next week.

In the Sanctuary, the ceiling color is completed on 7 of 8 segments of the dome. The final segment will be completed when the tie-in to the entry ceiling sheetrock is installed. The wood glu-lam beams in the Sanctuary have been exposed and look wonderful in their relationship with the pearlescent ceiling. The altar dais and the accessibility ramp have been started and will be completed next week.

The sprint to the finish has begun, but we have to keep the long view in mind as we start applying some of the finishing touches. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and come meditate with us on Wednesdays at noon!

Finally, there is be a Seva Week at the Temple during Memorial Day weekend. It will begin on Thursday May 23rd and run through Monday May 27th. We will be concentrating on all the exterior landscaping and final details on the site. We can use all levels of skill, and all are welcome.
