Intuition is that directly perceiving faculty of the soul which at once knows the truth, requiring no medium or sense experience or reason. A real intuition can never be wrong. It does not contradict, but is always supported by right sense perception, reason, and inference. All things known by intuition are invariably true both materially and intellectually.
Intuition is inner knowledge
Errors are made by people who fail to distinguish between a real intuition, and their convictions born of intellectual experience, habit, shrewdness, or the superstition that “because it happened so many times, consequently it will happen always.”
Intuition is knowledge from within and does not depend on any data whatsoever from the senses or the mind. The scientist, for example, investigates the atom objectively. But the yogi becomes the atom. Divine perception is always from within. From within alone can a thing be understood in its true essence.
Pure reason and calm feeling lead to intuition. Therefore, the first requisite in developing it is to calmly reason and calmly feel everything. Skeptical reason and emotional feeling cloud intuition. Intuition is developed by exercising common sense, daily introspection and analysis, depth of thought, continued activity in one direction, and, best of all, by meditation and holding to its calm after-effects.
Intuitive problem-solving
Whenever you want to intuitively solve a problem, first go into deep meditation or silence. Do not think of your problem during meditation, but meditate until you feel that a sense of calmness fills the inner recesses of your body, and your breath becomes calm and quiet. Then concentrate simultaneously at the point between the eyebrows (Christ center) and the heart. After that, ask God to direct your intuition so that you may know what you should do.
When you have developed intuition, you will stand firm in your knowledge, though the whole heavens and the universe rise up to defeat you.
