Course Instructor and Presenters
Nayaswami Sagar resides in the Ananda Monastery at Ananda Village, California. Sagar served Ananda’s work in India for seven years and currently teaches online and in-person classes on a variety of topics including meditation, karma and reincarnation, the yogic teachings of Jesus, and more.
Born into a family of Kriya Yogis, Sagar read the Autobiography of a Yogi at the young age of seven and has ever since been an avid student of Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings.
Sagar will be the primary instructor for this course. He leads the annual Communing with Aum retreat at Ananda Village and enjoys sharing about the power and blessings of OM with his usual joy, creativity, and enthusiasm.
Nayaswami Maria came to Ananda in 1976 with a wish to learn how to meditate and fully integrate this daily practice into her life.
Learning the AUM Technique of Meditation, and feeling in AUM its characteristic quality of soul comfort and expansion, this experience has proven a powerful guide and insight into the nature of reality and right action.
Maria has lived at Ananda Village for 24 years serving in the gardens, membership, Expanding Light, Ministry, and as a Kriyacharya. For 23 years, she and her husband, Ananta, served in Sacramento establishing there a residential community and temple.
Her life experience, attunement and devotion fuel a natural love of helping others achieve their spiritual potential.
Devalila, Director of Ananda Kriya Sangha for North and South America, has been practicing and sharing Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings for over 20 years.
Previous to her current role in the Ananda Kriya Sangha, she served as Director of Online with Ananda for nearly 10 years, where she developed and taught online courses – all based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and his Direct Disciple, Swami Kriyananda.
Previous to her time at Online with Ananda, she served over seven years archiving talks by Swami Kriyananda for Treasures Along the Path.
“AUM is the bridge that unites human and cosmic consciousness.” This statement of Yogananda’s has been a source of great inspiration in Devalila’s spiritual journey. She looks forward to sharing her insights and experience in AUM, based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda.
Nayaswami Pranaba is one of Ananda’s most widely traveled and experienced ministers, having meditated for over 50 years and offering classes and workshops in meditation and yoga for the past 44 years.
He has helped to create and direct Ananda Centers in Palo Alto, Portland, Seattle, Dallas, and Assisi, Italy. Over the years, Pranaba has been Director of the Ananda Yoga Teacher Training program, and Manager of The Expanding Light Retreat in California, as well as Ananda’s Retreat in Assisi, Italy. He has directed the Living Discipleship Course, Ananda’s membership training program, and now works with Ananda’s outreach ministry.
The name ‘Pranaba’ actually means the ‘cosmic sound of AUM’ – I’ve always felt an affinity with AUM and have enjoyed sharing the experiences and insights of this spiritual focus.
Nayaswami Narayan, a dedicated spiritual practitioner, found his path through Paramhansa Yogananda’s “Autobiography of a Yogi.” Guided and inspired by Yogananda’s disciple, Swami Kriyananda, he embraced discipleship and the path of kriya yoga.
For two decades, Narayan has served Ananda Sangha Worldwide, contributing through roles at Crystal Clarity Publishers, online teaching (“Online with Ananda”), and founding Ananda communities in Southern California.
Currently, Narayan serves as the director of Crystal Clarity Publishers alongside his wife, Nayaswami Dharmadevi. As a devoted Lightbearer and Kriyacharya, he assists people on the path of Kriya Yoga.
