• All three forms below must be completed prior to the first class.

    Section 1 — Release and Waiver

    Any program of physical activity will involve a certain amount of strenuous exercise. For this reason we suggest to all enrollees that a pre-attendance medical examination is advisable.

    In consideration of the consent of Ananda Church of Self-Realization and Ananda World Brotherhood Village and any individual teachers who may participate in Bridge to Ananda Yoga for the dates September 8 to November 24, 2024 (or February 23, 2025 if participating in the whole yoga teacher training portion), said consent having been given upon my express request, I hereby assume all risk of injury or damage to my property during the program of physical activity, or incidental thereto, howsoever and wheresoever occurring, and however long the physical activity course may continue, and I hereby release Ananda Church of Self-Realization and Ananda World Brotherhood Village and all individual teachers from any and all claims and demands or liabilities for any injury to my person including death or to my property in any way arising out of or incidental to my participation in, or presence during said physical activity course.

  • Section 2 — Emergency Contact

    Please provide us with the name and contact of a person to notify in case of emergency.

  • Section 3 — Consent for Assistance

    I hereby give my consent to the instructors and assistants of the above-mentioned program to verbally/visually adjust my bodily position in the yoga postures during the program. Please consult the Bridge to Ananda Yoga faculty if you have questions.

  • Student Agreements

    Following are the requirements for receiving a letter of completion for Bridge to Ananda Yoga®.

    Attendance Requirements

    • Attend approximately 75% of the live classes.
    • For any live classes that you miss, you will need to watch the video recordings and take a quiz.
    • Full participation in all live classes (synchronous learning) and assignments. This means being actively engaged during the entire session.
    • Full participation in all pre-recorded material (asynchronous learning) including sadhanas, presentations, group discussion forums, self-quizzes, video and reading assignments, as listed on the course site and schedule.
    • Pre-recorded content for each unit will be released on Friday at midnight with due date for completion the following Saturday morning prior to the live classes.
    • Full participation in at least 8 hours pre-recorded or live classes of guided group sadhana (spiritual practices, which can include Kirtan) during the course. Students may choose which to attend. A separate schedule for live sadhanas with zoom link will be provided.

    Students are responsible for keeping their online Attendance Log (google sheet) accurate and up to date as they are completed on the course webpage. Students will be provided with a link to a google sheet to access their Attendance Log for verification and updates.

Punctuality
On-time attendance is required for live classes.

Reading Assignments
All assigned reading must be completed to receive a letter of completion. Each reading assignment needs to be completed by the end of each unit.

Assignments and Self-Quizzes
Students must satisfactorily complete all required course assignments by the end of each unit in which they are assigned, plus an final self review quiz at the end of the course. “Satisfactorily” means on-time completion with answers that demonstrate a good understanding of the subject material.

Post Course Assignments
Students complete the following on time and with satisfactory understanding of the subject material before receiving letter of completion: ❖ Signed attestation that you have read the entire Raja Yoga Book and AYTT manual ❖ Written class plan for teaching an Ananda Yoga class: see due date on your course page. ❖ Evaluation of another classmate’s proposed Ananda Yoga class: see due date on course page. ❖ Post-course assignment: teach an Ananda Yoga class and submit student and self evaluation of the experience. (See specific dates on the course page.)

Safety and Awareness in Personal Practice
Each student must exhibit a safe personal practice, showing appropriate consideration for her/his own body’s abilities, limitations, and conditions.

Attitude and Aptitude for Teaching
Students must demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to teach Ananda Yoga clearly, safely, and completely. The staff makes every effort to help students remedy shortcomings, but students who we feel have not demonstrated these attributes will be unable to enter the Level 2 Ananda YTT track.

Personal Conduct
Students must follow the AYTTO Participation Guidelines and conduct themselves with maturity, take responsibility, cooperate, be open to correction, and show respect for others and for the Yoga tradition.

Course Fees and Cancellation Policy
The course must be paid in full to reserve your space and prior to the course start date. If you cancel on or before January 8, your payment will be refunded, less a $150 processing fee. If you cancel September 8 - 30, 2024, 50% of your payment will be refunded, and the remainder will be forfeited. For cancellations after September 30, 2024, the full program cost will be forfeited.

Self-Representation after Certification
Students who complete Bridge to Ananda Yoga are not certified Ananda Yoga teachers. Certification comes only upon completion of Level 2 AYTT. Without express permission, they may not say or imply in any way that they represent Ananda, Ananda Yoga, The Expanding Light, Ananda Sangha, or Ananda Church of Self-Realization. For details, see the AYTT manual (Section 5).

Use of Course Materials
All course materials are copyrighted by Ananda Church of Self-Realization and may not be reproduced or shared with anyone except as outlined in Section 5 of the manual. Any other use requires prior express written permission. Contact the Director of Ananda Yoga (530-478-7518) for assistance.

Continuing Education
Every yoga teacher should pursue continuing education after graduation. By signing this agreement, the student agrees to do so regularly and conscientiously.
