Fitting the Lotus Finial
We are making the final preparations for the Dedication next week. A major step was the completion of the lotus finial which sits atop the small octagon roof over the entry. The lotus bud was wonderfully crafted by Kent White and sits on the roof in pure splendor! We dry fit it this week, so now it is off to the the painter and will be installed next week. Other final items to complete are the benches in the entry foyer and the final installation of the altar and eternal flame. The landscaping is nearing completion as scores of jasmine bushes on wood trellises are being places along the west entry fence. The smell of jasmine permeates the air and delights all who enter the Memorial. Other plants and lighting are also being installed in final preparation.
The next week will be a time of making sure every detail is complete and all is ready to for the Dedication on May 16th. We are looking forward to seeing our Ananda family from around the world and sharing the never-ending joy of Swamiji’s presence in our lives. Jai Guru!!
