Radio Ananda (Sanskrit for “joy”) is produced by Nalini Graeber, Clark Francisco, Jagrav Quinn and other members of Ananda Sangha, a worldwide movement based on the nonsectarian techniques of Self-realization taught by Paramhansa Yogananda (1892-1952). Yogananda has inspired many with a deep desire to know God – “the nearest of the near, the dearest of the dear.” He is well known as the author of Autobiography of a Yogi, a spiritual classic read by millions around the world.

“Gather together people of like mind in the pursuit of high ideals” — Yogananda envisioned communities where a person could live, work, and go to church all in one place. He called these communities “World Brotherhood Colonies.” More than any other disciple, Swami Kriyananda tried to fulfill his Guru’s vision of spiritual communities.  Many Ananda communities, teaching centers and meditation groups are located around the world — especially in California, Washington, Oregon, Rhode Island — as well as in India and Assisi, Italy.

Swami Kriyananda, the beloved founder of Ananda, passed away on Sunday April 21, 2013.

Kriyananda has written some 400 pieces of inspirational music, which form the core of programming on Radio Ananda. Kriyananda has also produced more than 100 books and lectured nearly continuously for more than 50 years. Excerpts from Kriyananda’s talks and other features are offered on the play on demand page, as an addition to our uplifting music stream.

Nalini, Clark, Jagrav and others who are directly involved with producing Radio Ananda, reside at Ananda Village, set on 800 beautiful acres in the Sierra foothills, near Nevada City, California.
