Absorption in Love Leads to Wisdom - Essence of the Bhagavad Gita, Class 54, Verses 4:38-4:40

When we are absorbed in adoration of the Divine we do not need to discipline our minds to resist delusion. Deep devotion draws us into a living state of true wisdom, for we see at last where our happiness lies: in divine fulfillment, not outer pleasure. This wisdom sanctifies man, making him pure, whole, and holy again. Purified of infatuation with the senses, man rediscovers his divine reality. This is the promise of the scriptures. But this lofty promise is not so distant as to be unreachable, for we see examples in the lives of Swami Kriyananda, and our own day to day lives, wherever our love for something overrides conflicting desires. Devotion leads to joy, and ultimately bliss.
