In this Easter message, Swami Kriyananda shares many insights about the significance of Easter. Kriyananda says that he had happy memories of the holiday with his mother and family but it was not until he met Paramhansa Yogananda, his guru that he fully understood the role of Christ and the deeper meanings and symbols of Christianity.
Kriyananda explains that the resurrection can be perceived as a time of transformation, not only as a time of suffering. Kriyananda discovered that the role of Christianity is to emulate the life of Christ so that we can realize our true potential. From this perspective, every day can be a day of resurrection. We can change and overcome faults, wrongs, or regrets of the past.
The Easter promise is that from this day onward we can live in the Love and Light of Christ. Forget the past. Easter is a time for personal resurrection, forgiveness, and love.
