Yogananda's Three-Part Healing Prayer
Mary Kretzmann, Director of the Ananda Healing Prayer Ministry, demonstrates Paramhansa Yogananda's powerful three-part Divine Mother Prayer for healing body, mind and soul.

Hi, my name is Mary Kretzmann. I'm the Director of the Ananda Healing Prayer Ministry. You can find more on ananda.org/prayers. There are all kinds of resources there.
Today I'm going to talk about the three-part Divine Mother Prayer on the website, ananda.org/prayers, you can find a 10-minute video I made previously on the Divine Mother Prayer in general. And in that one, we pray for body, mind, and soul, and then say, AUM, AUM. It's a 10-minute video, I go into the background of the power of it and why so I really encourage you to watch it. And I will assume you have. So, we'll jump right into the three-part prayer here.
So, this three-part healing prayer is very helpful, in general, because the person is getting a total of nine healing AUMs instead of three. The other thing is that it gives a particular focus first to the body, then to the mind, then to the soul. And it's giving a person that extra boost on all three levels, that extra focus. And there are reasons why. There might be a reason why someone needs extra healing energy in the mind, for instance, to overcome alcoholism or something where you need extra focus, extra willpower, extra mental healing to overcome the challenges, overcome an addictive type of situation. Of course, the body and the mind always play a part in those things. And the soul for the karma involved. Again, I go into that in the original video.
So anytime you want to give an extra boost, I highly recommend this prayer. If you need to pray and you only have a limited amount of time, you can use the Divine Mother prayer, the other one, the shorter version. So let's pray. I'll demonstrate this prayer right now. And then, at the end, I'll leave it blank where the name is so that you can insert the name of somebody want to pray for right now. I'll leave it blank, but I will demonstrate it right now. Pray for Jyotish, Nayaswami Jyotish, who is the director of Ananda Sangha around the world, and his health is fine. It's more like a supportive prayer and a way to demonstrate the prayer. It's also good to pray for your spiritual in people who are inspiring you and keep them boosted up because there's always travel and you know, all kinds of considerations. So it's like I said, this is a supportive prayer. I don't want to alarm anybody thinking that there's an illness that we're trying to pray for right now.
Demonstration of the Divine Mother Prayer: Part One: Praying for the Body
So, let's pray. I'll demonstrate the prayer praying for Nayaswami Jyotish.
Divine Mother, Thou art Omnipresent. Thou art in all Thy children. Thou art in Nayaswami Jyotish. Manifest Thy healing presence in his body. Then you rub your hands together vigorously, and then you hold up the hands to send out AUM three times.
AUM, AUM, AUM.
You can linger a moment if you feel a good tingling in the hands. Or you can go directly into part two, which I will do now.
Part Two: Praying for the Mind
In part two, we will rotate the fist dynamically like this and then hold them up. Sometimes people rotate this way (hands are open, not in a fist) or like a fist, either one. When you think about it, you're generating the energy up the astral spine doing this. And it creates an upward flow for a positive can-do spirit. And that's part of mental healing too, that you can, and you are positive, you're energetic. You can do this. You can face whatever the difficulty is.
So, I will now demonstrate that, but I want you to realize that the hand closest to the body is the one rotating up. If you go backward, it feels bad, like you're pulling the energy down so the one closest to the body is going up. But there you go. So, let's do it for Jyotish Divine Mother. Thou art Omnipresent. Thou art and all Thy children, Thou art in Nayaswami Jyotish. Manifest Thy healing presence in his mind and rotate the fist and then hold up the hands, sending AUM

Part Three: Praying for the Soul
And now we will pray for the soul. Think of this when we pray for someone's soul supportively, we’re just supporting their soul nature or sending AUM to support the soul nature. And it's also mitigating any karma from the past, that negative karma that needs to be mitigated to help the person overcome the healing situation. So, in this case, because it's primarily a supportive prayer for Nayaswami Jyotish, it's primarily to continue to support that soul in nature that has him in the position that he's in.
So, let's pray, Divine Mother, Thou art Omnipresent. Thou art in all Thy children. Thou art in Nayaswami Jyotish. Manifest Thy healing presence in his soul. (Rub your hands together vigorously, then raise them up, palms facing outward)

Guided Prayer for Your Loved One
Now I'll lead you through the prayer, and I'll leave it blank for the name, so you can now pray along. Of course, I'll say his, but if it's a female, you just insert her. You can pray along with me. So if you have someone you'd like to pray for now, think of that person and I'll just go right through it without commentary.
