When I met Swami Kriyananda in 1981, I realized at once, due to his radiant presence, that my souls destiny was to seek, love, and know God.

Before, my life, while it appeared promising, seemed empty to me. While in Swamis presence, my heart opened to a life of living for a goal much larger than myself. How could I ever express, in mere words, my infinite debt of gratitude to this peerless disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda?

Since that first meeting, I have married, become a parent and pursued a career. Yet, though living an outwardly ordinary life, my inner life has been illumined by the blessing of my friendship with Swami Kriyananda. Through his example, I have sought to be kinder, more forgiving, more accepting of myself and others, to courageously follow my inner guidance and to stand on my own two feet.

While I have much to improve in myself, I will never quit trying, because of the lessons I have learned from Swamis life. For I know that progress on the spiritual path is directional. While I may momentarily falter in my steps, I will never stop seeking the goal of Self-realization.

Swami Kriyananda is the truest friend I and my family have. He has shown me the way of true discipleship to our great guru Paramhansa Yogananda.

In Masters infinite love,

Peter Skillman
