Donor Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable savings account that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support Ananda.

To make a gift through your retirement account, contact your financial institution with the following information:

Ananda Church of Self-Realization of Nevada County
14618 Tyler Foote Road Box 50
Nevada City, CA 95959
Tax ID (EIN): #23-7366714

When you make a grant to Ananda via your donor-advised fund, email donations@ananda.org to let us know since not all accounts will share the donor’s name.

Qualified Charitable Distributions

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is a donation made to Ananda directly from your retirement account. If you are over 72 years old, you are required to begin withdrawing funds each year from your retirement accounts. When you donate your Required Minimum Distribution, you support our work while also reducing, rather than increasing, your taxable income for the year. Therefore, you can receive a tax benefit from your charitable contribution even if you do not itemize deductions.

To make a gift through your retirement account, contact your financial institution with the following information:

Ananda Church of Self-Realization of Nevada County

Contact donations@ananda.org if you need more information from us to complete the process.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Multiply the blessings of the gifts you give! Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations.

There are typically two ways you can submit a matching gift: through your company’s online matching gift portal or through a printed form. Complete the information needed and contact us at donations@ananda.org to let us know when you’ve submitted a matching gift. If you’re not sure whether your employer matches gifts, just email us and ask. We’re also happy to help you complete the process or to answer any questions you may have.

Wire Transfer/EFT Transfer

Giving directly between banks is also a great way to support Ananda. To set up a wire transfer to Ananda’s bank account, contact Erin (erin@ananda.org, 530-478-7712) to confirm account details.

Crypto Currency

Before you sell your cryptocurrency and donate the after-tax proceeds, consider donating that digital currency directly to Ananda for the greatest benefit to you and Ananda. By doing this you avoid paying capital gains taxes on the appreciated value and Ananda, as a 501(c)3, can receive the full value of your contribution.

Ananda accepts Bitcoin and most major types of digital currency through our Kraken account. To make a donation contact Erin (erin@ananda.org, 530-478-7712) to receive our account key or more information about donating digital currency.

Memorial or “in Honor of” Gifts

Tribute donations can be made in honor or memory of a loved one, friend or colleague. These gifts allow donors to express their appreciation or sympathy, while supporting a cause that is important to them. You can make a gift in honor or in memory of someone you know through our online form by sharing their name in the “What inspired this gift?” section. For more information about memorial giving, you can also contact Parvati Hansen, Executive Director of the Ananda Janaka Foundation at 530-478-7695 or parvati@anandajanakafoundation.org

Stocks, Bonds or Mutual Fund Shares

By donating stock, donors can avoid paying capital gains taxes on the appreciated value and typically can receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the donation. To donate stocks, bonds or mutual funds email Erin at erin@ananda.org or call 530-478-7712 to confirm details and let us know about your donation.

Thank You, God! Tithing

Tithing is more than just a monthly gift; it is a spiritual practice, a conscious expression of gratitude to God. That’s why Ananda’s tithing program is called “Thank You, God!” Your tithe is a gift given on a regular basis to the source of your inspiration and not directed towards a specific fund. Visit our Thank You, God! page to learn more about the practice of tithing or to sign up to receive monthly inspiration.

Planned Giving

Donors can include Ananda in their estate plan by naming Ananda Janaka Foundation as a beneficiary of their Will, Trust, IRA, Investment Account, Life Insurance policy etc. These gifts fund an endowment, managed by the Ananda Janaka Foundation Board of Directors, which was established to provide for Ananda’s future.

You can find out more about Ananda Janaka Foundation and include Ananda in your estate planning by contacting Parvati Hansen, Executive Director of the Ananda Janaka Foundation (parvati@anandajanakafoundation.org or 530-478-7695).

If you have already included Ananda in your Will or other planning, please let us know. Your notification helps us plan for the future and to honor those who have made a commitment to sustaining Ananda’s spiritual legacy!
