Course Structure

This course consists of 4 two-week modules spread over an eight-week period. During each module, you will learn and explore a number of new techniques and exercises, most of them presented as audio or video recordings with Nayaswami Gyandev and Nayaswami Diksha.

At the end of the module module, you will have a live webinar for you to share as well as refine what you’ve been learning and doing. The live webinars will be facilitated by course instructors Darshana and Bhawani. 

Following are the topics of the four modules:

You’ll practice techniques that dramatically increase your level of energy, then use that energy to gain full cooperation from your mind and focus your willpower more effectively. You’ll also learn the little-known secret of effective affirmation practice.

Emotions are major carriers of energy, and they can serve us—or block us, or lead us astray. You’ll learn the hidden inner mechanism of emotion, and practice simple techniques that will help you harness that energy and redirect it to your benefit.

Magnetism makes everything happen in your life, inwardly as well as outwardly. Learn to direct your energy wisely to generate the kind of magnetism—and get the kinds of results—that you want to have You’ll also learn how to protect yourself magnetically from negative people and environments.

This is the ultimate goal of all seeking: to live in divine consciousness. It can seem elusive, but in this module you’ll learn simple, energy-based practices that take you far in this direction. You’ll also develop a personal plan for using the techniques of this course in your daily life.

Course Creators


Nayaswami Gyandev McCord, E-RYT 500, is the Director of the Ananda School of Yoga & Meditation. Gyandev has an advanced certificate in online teaching methodology, is the Director of Ananda Yoga worldwide, and is a co-founder of Yoga Alliance.

A member of the teaching staff at the Expanding Light Retreat for more than 30 years he is well known internationally for his profound ability to share the teachings of yoga asana, meditation, yoga philosophy, and the joy that comes from living a yogic lifestyle.



Nayaswami Diksha McCord, E-RYT 500, is a senior faculty member of the Ananda School of Yoga & Meditation in Northern California, serving as the Director of the Spiritual Counseling Training, and as co-director of the Ananda Meditation Teacher Training program online. She has been meditating for more than 30 years, and training meditation teachers for more than 20 years.

A powerful and dynamic woman of great warmth and humor, she is gifted in both intelligence and intuition. Diksha brings a broad background to her teaching—from physical wellness to Ayurveda to profound spiritual understanding. Above all, she awakens in her students their own inner wisdom and the will to make positive changes in their lives.


Meet Your Instructors


Darshana, E-RYT 200, RYT 500 and C-IAYT, became interested in meditation and found the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda in 2009. Since then, she has been applying them in her own life and sharing them with others.

Darshana has been a certified Ananda Yoga and Meditation instructor since 2012. She is an Ananda Yoga therapist and a minister.  She serves with Ananda School of Yoga and Meditation as certification programs coordinator. She also teaches asana, meditation and yoga philosophy online and in person at The Expanding Light Retreat.



Bhawani, E-RYT 200, is a certified Ananda Yoga and Meditation instructor and a long-time meditator. Inspired by yoga since the age of 18, Bhawani’s creative, playful approach makes her classes fun, as well as a relaxing and centering experience.

She is passionate about helping people live in a balanced way and reach their highest potential through relaxation and dynamic energy awareness.

Bhawani holds a Master’s degree from CIIS in East-West Psychology, with a specialization in Spiritual Counseling.

She serves at the Expanding Light Retreat and Crystal Hermitage at Ananda Village. 




No, you can engage with the course whenever it works for you. The only “live” activities are five webinars, which are video-recorded for the benefit of those who cannot attend.

The first webinar will be on Sunday Jan 14 at 11:00 AM Pacific time.

The remaining four webinars will take place on Sundays at 9:00 AM Pacific time: Jan 28, Feb 11 & 25, Mar 10.

For each module, expect to spend 1–2 hours becoming familiar with the techniques and exercises, plus another hour with the webinar. Spend as much time as you like in the discussion forums, sharing your experiences with the techniques, and learning from classmates’ experiences. As for how much time you’ll spend practicing the techniques and exercises, that depends on how good you want your results to be.

Yes. The course site will remain open for 2 months after the final module ends. After that, you will have lifetime access to another site that contains all the course materials.
