Gain an overview of our series on the science behind meditation and yoga:
Murali Venkatrao was born in India and lives now in the Seattle area. Murali has studied different variations of Hatha Yoga both in India and the US. He has been teaching Yoga for the past 15 years. Added to his dedication to the path of yoga, Murali shares in a creative, insightful, and playful style for which students are most appreciative. Formerly a Software Architect at Microsoft, Murali is currently pursuing his PhD in Yoga at Prashanti Kuteeram in Bangalore, India. His research focus is the study of physiological pathways through which Yoga helps control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. Murali directs the Ananda Yoga Teacher Training program at Ananda Washington with Michelle Marshall.
I enjoyed the introduction on what I would call a more modern view of the sciences of yoga and how they relate to the physical body and all the good things the practices will bring. I would have enjoyed hearing more of the spiritual which is really why I have been led to this path. I guess my studying of the Gita and my goal of a continual experience of GOD consciousness might seem a little behind the times in todays modern world.
I watched the 4 part webinar, and it was also amazing!!
The actual webinar page had .pdf files for the slides in each of the parts, and these were very helpful in following the dialogue. This page, though – the introduction to the webinar series – would also be much easier to follow if the slides he used in the presentation were available in a .pdf so it could be opened and watched while listing to the program.
