The ANANDA MUSIC ORAL HISTORY VIDEOS capture the essence of living and sharing the music of Ananda. Listen to longtime devotee musicians share their stories and remembrances of spiritual lessons learned from working on the songs and chants of Swami Kriyananda and Paramhansa Yogananda.

Maitri Jones joined Ananda in the summer of 1973 at the age of 18 after discovering her passion for music, spirituality, and meditation in high school. As an early member of the community, she contributed her musical talents singing and playing flute, and she toured with Swami Kriyananda across the country as part of the first Ananda choir, the Gandharvas. Over the years, Maitri has continued to contribute to Ananda’s music through performing as well as composing the song, “Keep Calling Him.”

In 1978, when Maitri wrote "Keep Calling Him:" "Something different was happening that I was aware of that it kind of wrote itself. That was a different experience for me, it was like being given a gift, it was already there in the ether. I was in the right place at the right time. Even though I say I wrote it, it came from Master, and I was just blessed to participate."
