Moksha Day

Ananda Village annually celebrates Moksha Day, in honor of Swami Kriyananda's dedication to achieving spiritual liberation. The day is marked by a six-hour meditation at Swamiji's home, Crystal Hermitage, which is known for its tulip gardens that he loved. Swamiji embodied qualities such as enthusiasm, discipleship to Master (Paramhansa Yogananda), and universal kindness, friendship, and love. He believed that enthusiasm was essential for achieving joy and happiness, and his discipleship to Master was profound. He cared for everyone like a father and mother, and no one was special to him, for he loved all equally.

Ananda Village members strive to follow Swamiji's example by embodying these qualities in their own lives. In his example, he helps us all to see that we too can achieve spiritual liberation by following Swamiji's example of enthusiasm, joy, discipleship, and universal love.
