The recent Islamic terrorist attacks in France stunned the world. It was the worst bloodshed on French soil since World War II. Paris is the beloved city of lights, romance, wine, baguettes, good cheese and more. It’s as though by attacking Paris the terrorists bombed that happy and romantic spot in everyone. France retaliated with air strikes. Can inner and outer peace be restored? Can we avert an ever-escalating war?
Paramhansa Yogananda said that we will have 300 years of peace after the citizens of this planet became sick of war. He said that would come after a devastating world war. Can we pray our way out of it? I hope so. Can we at least pray to mitigate and minimize it? I do truly believe we can do that.
In the time before World War II started, Edgar Cayce, the renowned psychic, gave a group reading in Denver, Colorado. People at the session were concerned with the increasing signs of impending war. During the session, which was audio-recorded, Edgar Cayce was asked if World War ll was indeed coming. In his trance state, he replied that there would be war. He also said that the world war could be averted if twenty people would pray together for peace. The room erupted in fear. “Did you hear? He said there would be war! What will we do?”
A researcher found this recording in the Edgar Cayce archives. He was astonished to hear these comments by those present in the room after Cayce’s prediction of war. No one seemed to hear that Cayce had also said the world war could be averted if twenty people would pray. They were already gripped with the fear that war would come.
I have seen the power of prayer affect world events. I have written extensively about that topic here:
Everything you do should be done with peace. That is the best medicine for your body, mind, and soul. It is the most wonderful way to live.
Yogananda’s Prayer for World Peace
- Whispers from EternityParamhansa Yogananda
(1949 Edition)Heavenly Father, bless the nations of the earth, our own large family, that all may realize their eternal kinship as Thy children. Thou art our one spiritual Father, the Beloved of the Universe and the Beloved of our hearts. May the strong thoughts of love we broadcast today possess the brains of the dictators and generals, that they may be filled with Thy wisdom, and so desist from working toward the common ruin of humanity. Bless them all. Bless all citizens of the earth, that they may establish a cooperative unity among all souls, and live in a united world with Thy power and light of love guiding us to Thy kingdom.Aum. Peace. Amen.
Thou Art the Best Bomb-Shelter
When clouds of devastating war drop rain of fire and death, I will not forget that Thou, O God, art my best Bomb-Shelter. In life and death, in disease, famine, pestilence and poverty, I cling to Thee, who alone can show me that in all dualities of life’s experiences I can remain unharmed. Thou wilt ever protect me, making me realize I am immortal, untouched by the changing conditions of childhood, youth, age, and of world upheavals.

- Visualize world leaders being filled with light and wisdom as they make decisions on how to respond. Leaders of these key nations or regions would be good to Please keep in mind the leaders of these key nations: USA, Russia, France (and the EU), Middle East and China.
- Please read: Peace and Light in the Middle East – I wrote this in 2013 and it is applicable today now more than ever. The visualizations can be adapted to the current situation.
- Also, visualize light and good will in all those shaping international policy. May leaders rise above greed-based decisions.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
See the Light of the Infinite Christ filling all the troubled areas suffering the pains of war and violence.
May Peace fill all hearts.

I would love to hear your comments.
