Seclusion is the Price of Greatness

Yogananda said, "Seclusion is the price of greatness," but why is that so? In silence, the soul touches God. In deep stillness, when restless thoughts and feelings no longer muddy the pools of inner awareness, we can at last hear the voice of God whispering to us. No man ever achieved greatness, which is to say transcendence, in any arena without touching into that place of inner stillness. Conscious seclusion helps us meet our own inner consciousness. Far from being boring, seclusion can be wonderfully rejuvenating and joyful.
