Deja vu

Question

Greetings!

I have been experiencing more and more frequent bouts of deja vu the last couple years as my connection to master has grown deeper. It always feels exciting and comforting to me when it happens, but I've never read anything about this phenomenon from our gurus. Has anyone else experienced this? What does it indicate?

Many Thanks, and Blessings!

Answer

Hello Jacob,

I’m not clear from your question whether your deja vu’s have been with Paramhansa Yogananda, or with our line of masters, or with life events in general. I’m going to assume it’s the first of these, since “it always feels exciting and comforting” to you, and mundane deja vu’s might not make you feel that way.

In any event, yes, other people (I don’t know how many or how frequent) have experienced this phenomenon, to widely varying degrees, as one might expect. I am not aware of Master having written or spoken publicly about this, but I think it’s safe to say that it represents a significant connection with Master — from the past, or from a “spillover effect” between memory and present experiences. Either way, it’s a good thing, and a blessing to be grateful for.

May your deja vu’s evolve into actual present-time experiences of the guru’s loving grace.

Blessings,

Gyandev
