Nerve Pain When Relaxing

Question

I get nerve pain on the left side of my head when I try to relax in the state of meditation and it gradually increases. Is it natural/ Is there any remedy for this?

Answer

Dear Manoj,

Such difficulties are nearly impossible to sort out from a distance. I suspect it’s a physical problem, such as poor posture, a spinal misalignment, or an undetected injury. You could begin by seeking out a yoga therapist, chiropractor, or physiotherapist who can work with you at that level.

My guess is that you will learn much by doing that, and be well on your way to resolving the issue. He or she is likely to give you some insights and exercises that will help minimize, and perhaps eliminate the problem. And if not, ask him or her to refer you to someone else who might be able to shed light on the problem.

Blessings on your practice,
