Extreme Emotions


Off late I'm sensing a lot of hate within me...seems like I had it within me from a long time..It is eating me up from inside.I'm hating people whom I like very much and now I hate myself for such an act..I dunno what to do..need your help badly.

Dear Bharath,

Extreme emotions, such as you are describing, come from thwarted desires.

Your emotions have control over your inner divine Self.

Yoga, meditation, introspection, and developing the heart’s natural love are the only answer. Through yoga practices you can develop control of your self and eliminate binding desires.

When you begin to feel this emotion, concentrate at the point between the eyebrows, calling to Paramhansa Yogananda, our guru. He is ever present for those who call to him.

Concentrate on his presence there and pray to him to give you peace, harmony and love.

Do this practice 5 times a day for about 10 minutes.

Then immediately do something that will lift your consciousness so that you are no longer affected by the dark emotion or hatred.

Do not try to reason with this emotion, but raise your consciousness with Yogananda’s help. Doing serviceful activities are best, as by helping others you will feel better.
