Dealing with Karma

Question

OK, so this sounds strange but a while ago my family was told by a psychic to watch out when driving because she had a vision of a crash with body bags. Recently my friends mum ( who has also had psychic experiences) had a dream where I was in a car accident and died. I worry about my family because I don’t want to die young and I’ve always thought that might happen but I don’t want it too. So my question is, do you think this is a premonition of the future and can it be changed?

Answer

Dear Hannah,

Sometimes these premonitions are more about a direction of energy that is likely to manifest, and may not necessarily be confined to the specifics, i.e. dying in a car accident. It may be that a person has some karma to deal with, and that will show up in that person’s life at some point. But if one is growing spiritually, and opening up to positive energy shifts in their life, then often instead of dying in a car accident, the karma would be perhaps to some extent be mitigated, resulting in having a less intense experience, such as a broken arm. Or, if one’s consciousness is indeed very deep and expanded, the karma may be resolved completely on an inner level, without having it manifest outwardly

The spiritual path, is in one sense, the realization of who we really are, and the release on subtle levels, of all our desires, attachments, and obstacles that separate us from our true reality – our oneness in divine consciousness. An important tool to deal with karma is meditation, especially transformative techniques such as Kriya Yoga.

Another suggestion to understand karma more thoroughly, is to study Paramhansa Yogananda’s book, Karma and Reincarnation.

Blessings on your spiritual journey.
