Seeking Initiation into Kriya Yoga

Question

Dear Master,

I would like to be initiated into kriya yoga so I can fine tune my astral energy field, my intention is simply to serve in the new 5D world and make it a better place. As of now I am not ready to completely detach myself just yet (i.e. become a disciple, I assume this is equivalent to a monastic lifestyle). Is this a prerequisite of being initiated after one year course study? Please let me know, namaste!

Answer

Dear Nancy, We are very glad to hear of your interest in initiation into Kriya Yoga. We would be honored to help you achieve your goal. Please understand that although, the practice of Kriya Yoga definitely will fine-tune your astral energy field, its primary purpose is to purify you on every level of existence/consciousness and lead you, as soon as possible, into union with Divine Spirit and all that exists. Serving the world is a very fine goal to which to aspire. The means and opportunities to uplift the world around you will come into your life in a natural way, when you embrace the path of Kriya Yoga.

It is a requirement for initiation into Kriya Yoga through Ananda Sangha, that you to take Discipleship Initiation after approximately 6 months of study and practice of the preliminary techniques, all of which would be carefully explained to you, ahead of time. Becoming a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda and our line of Kriya Yoga Masters does not mean that you need to detach yourself from your present life or embrace a monastic lifestyle. It primarily means that you choose to practice the teachings of our Masters and follow, to the best of your ability, the path and meditation techniques of Kriya Yoga.
