I am greatly enjoying Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi. Could you please tell me who wrote the footnotes that accompany the text? Thank you very much.

Yes, it’s a fantastic book.
Most footnotes were probably inserted by Tara Mata, Yogananda’s editor, to clarify points. She was a very learned and scholarly lady. However, nobody can know exactly which ones were Yogananda’s and which ones were hers.
Do you read the original 1946 edition? I’d recommend it.
