Answer

Dear Yasisurie,

Congratulations on your continued and steady practice of meditation. If you would like to continue your studies, please visit our online course in meditation for more information about meditation and Kriya Yoga.

Your experience of losing body awareness in meditation is not unusual; in fact, it is a good sign that you are becoming more interiorized.

Paramhansa Yogananda used to introduce meditation by saying “Dump the body!” meaning, “forget about body awareness.”

By letting go of the body, we can interiorize the mind much more quickly.

As we progress spiritually we may have many interesting experiences. If you are concerned about an experience being detrimental, ask yourself, “Is it enjoyable, pleasant, uplifting?”

In this case, you seem to have answered that it is indeed enjoyable and uplifting. As you meditate, try to keep your gaze focused at the spiritual eye (just above the brows), with eyes closed. Ask for God’s grace and guidance.

Many blessings on your spiritual search!

Joy to you,
Nayaswami Sadhana Devi
