Mother Teresa/St.John of the Cross, the Same Souls?

Question

Hello, do you think Mother Teresa, now St.Teresa might have been "St. John of the cross" in a former life? I can’t really explain why I think this may be the case, I was just wondering what you may think about that. Thank you.

Answer

Dear Jim,

All the world mourns the passing of this great soul, St. Teresa of Calcutta.

I know a little about the life of St. John of the Cross, who was indeed a very great saint. But I don’t know enough to enable me to explain what you are feeling, without making a much deeper study of both of their lives, and probably not even then.

Of course, it is possible that they are the same soul, but generally speaking, only the Great Ones, such as Paramhansa Yogananda, can unlock the details of peoples’ past incarnations, and they seldom reveal these things in public.

I believe that the reason for this is that, although there are certain ways that our past incarnations can teach us important lessons, the most important incarnation to focus on is this one and what we can do to accelerate our spiritual growth through self-effort now, combined with the grace, help, and guidance of our Gurus or spiritual teachers.
