Hong-Sau

Question

The first day I tried Hong Sau, I was very relaxed when I completed the session. However on the 2nd and 3rd day I came out with a lot of stress. What I did different was on the 1st day my focus was more on the breathe while on the 2nd and 3rd day my focus was more on the Spiritual eye. Which is correct? Kindly guide me. Thank you so much for all the help, understanding and guidance.

Answer

Dear Viki,

Your dilemma is not uncommon. Swami Kriyananda, in his landmark text inspired by the 8-Fold Path of Patanjali [ART AND SCIENCE OF RAJA YOGA], recommends that when a conflict occurs between focusing at the spiritual eye and following and feeling the flow of breath, that one should focus on the breath. In time, and with occasional practices adding the spiritual eye to watching the breath, you will be able to do both simultaneously.

I could give a very long talk on the importance of being centered at the point between the eyebrows but for now, and sticking with your question, try this suggestion. ok?

Thank you for asking!
