Answer

Dear Tanya,

It is wonderful that you are interested in exploring the path of Kriya Yoga. Kriya Yoga as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda is the meditation path that is taught at Ananda. We have a lot of information about this path on our Ananda website https://www.ananda.org/kriya-yoga/

This site will also give you details about how you can pursue this path if you are interested. Preparation for Kriya initiation involves study of the yogic teachings as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda, practice of several techniques, attunement with Yogananda as your guru, and establishing a solid meditation practice. This all takes some time and we encourage people to work at their own pace with these teachings. Once you take initiation into Kriya Yoga you commit to practicing the techniques of this path daily. Usually people take a year or more of study and practice before being ready for Kriya initiation.

Please do take a look at the website information to see if this path is the right direction for you.

Many blessings,
Nayaswami Mukti
