I just woke up this morning and was sitting in my chair when I looked at my door I saw a faint red circle. It felt like I was seeing it with my right eye, not both eyes and then after less than a minute it just disappeared. I have in the past heard chimes or bells ringing for no reason. Would this red circle have something to do with possibly a spirit trying to contact me?

Karen, that’s an unusual report: a faint red circle!
If you felt no concern nor experienced any effort by any force or energy to approach you or make contact, I wouldn’t worry about it. There’s always the chance of seeing fluctuations in the retina or optic nerve, as in the example of wavy lines (common) before a migraine or indicative of fatigue, dehydration and other such things. The fact of seeing only in one eye suggests that it was organic nor ethereal. (This is because astral lights, shapes or colors are seen through the spiritual eye; there’s no distinction between one eye or another as there is only one even if seen with open eyes!)
It is worth saying, however, that astral shapes and colors can be seen with open eyes, though perhaps less commonly so, owing to the diffusion of light and the distraction of outer objects in the field of sensory vision.
The chimes could also be either a phenomenon related to the faculty of hearing or astral sounds from one or more of the chakras (if so, likely the heart chakra).
I sense there is nothing to be concerned about. Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras suggests that astral phenomena are valid “objects” for developing one-pointed meditative concentration. Astral sense “objects” can also be approached in a feeling way as divine manifestations worthy of calm reverence. Okay?
