My Father Is Having a Hard Time Finding a Job

Question

Hey, I am asking for my dad, whose job has been declined so many times, When he is about to get the job, one obstacle comes and disturbs and it has been happening every time. Even today, the interviewer was about to interview him and it got disturbed and said they had already chosen another person. Can you tell me what is happening and what should I do?

Answer

Dear Liliana,

I am sorry to read about your father’s difficulties in obtaining a job. Your calm support and encouragement is important at this time when he must be feeling very discouraged.6

Let your daily prayers and meditations conclude with openness to how you can help him: not just find a job, any job, but to overcome whatever obstacles, karmically speaking, are preventing him.

This is is his challenge and no one can take it away from him. He can grow strong as a person and spiritually if he can maintain even-minded calmness and yet energetically continue his efforts to find work.

Your role, then, is to be positive but don’t feel you have to have all the answers or make suggestions. If you offer any advice to him be sure it is offered sensitively, calmly, and without imposing it upon him. Using questions is a good way to offer a suggestion: “What do you think about talking to Mr. So an so? Or, have you considered applying at XYZ company?”

Don’t try to “fix” the situation. He will feel empowered if the solution comes through himself.

Keeping active in service whether to the family, neighbors, or locally is important. Encouraging his spiritual practices would be a good thing, too.

Try also to understand that he will feel discouraged sometimes and trying to talk him out of it is less valuable than shifting the energy into doing something together that is positive.

May the wisdom of Divine Mother shine upon you both,
