What is Life Like for an Avatar (Incarnation of God)?

Question

At any moment how many Avatars take birth on Earth? Does an Avatar live in Maya but still inwardly know his or her true nature or reality? Is it true that only rare ones can identify an Avatar? Does an Avatar also have to wait for the right time to know what he or she has taken birth for (clearly)? Are Avatars mostly HSPs (Highly Sensitive People)? Do they suffer from negativities that others around them project?

Answer

Dear One,

At any moment how many Avatars take birth on Earth? One can never know this for sure. In the lineage of Paramhansa Yogananda we know of four who lived at the same time. Presumably this is rare. As to other avatars, who truly can say for sure? But common consensus is that the descent of an avatar is rare.

Does an Avatar live in Maya but still inwardly know his or her true nature or reality? Yogananda put it this way: an avatar is always in touch with an inner sense of freedom. Some must grow back into full realization while others are born with it. The frequency with which an avatar has a direct experience in cosmic consciousness varies greatly one to another.

Is it true that only rare ones can identify an Avatar? It is certainly true that few people have direct recognition of the spiritual stature of an avatar, because “it takes one to know one!” How many will vary from case to case.

Does an Avatar also have to wait for the right time to know what he or she has taken birth for (clearly)? Yes, probably but not always.

Are Avatars mostly HSPs (Highly Sensitive People)? I don’t think that term, or any other like it, applies to an avatar. Born with unlimited intuitive power and no ego the question of sensitivity takes on a dramatically different form.

Do they suffer from negativities that others around them project? No, except with compassion they feel for a negative person.

OK?
