why is the middle of the spiritual eye light shaped like a star? what does this signify?

Dear One,
The star of the spiritual eye has five points. They represent the five elements of which our whole creation has been formed: earth, water, fire, air, ether. The star itself represents Cosmic Consciousness, or absolute Spirit. Out of it these five elements emanate. All Vedic sciences, yoga, ayurveda, vastu, are based on these five elements, also called pancha (five) mahabhuta (great elements).
Yogananda explains that our body itself is a manifestation of these five elements, even physically: if you stand and open your legs and spread out your arms, your body becomes that five-pointed star, representing the five cosmic elements.
